Convivencia

I started believing that the intolerance we Muslims keep in mingling with the world culture is become the culprit in interfering with Islam in shaking hand with the other cultures of the world, we have to look back to the Spanish Convivencia, the system which made the Islamic Spain a wonderful country which made the world to respect.
La Convivencia is a term used to describe a postulated situat...ion in Spanish history when Jews, Muslims, and Catholics in Spain lived in relative peace together within the different kingdoms. It lasted from the Muslim Umayyad conquest of Hispania in 711 until 1492, concurrent with the Reconquista ("Reconquest"). The phrase often refers to the interplay of cultural ideas between the three groups, and ideas of religious tolerance.
